First Day of Spring

Yesterday was the first day of spring. It wasn’t how I imagined it
to be. You know, daffodils, sunshine, and running barefoot.

We went to the playground. I was still wearing my winter jacket.

I had to hurry home to put my groceries away before the Rocky Road melted.

Then I figured I’d give the farm a run.

It’s what you do when it’s still cold out. Hopefully it warms up before July 4th.

Ides of March

I don’t know about you but this long month of March is really getting on my nerves.

  mad as heck

It seems like it’s never going to end. I try to keep busy and not dwell on my misery. After this long winter, what else is left for me to do?

Well… I like to make messes, um I mean paint masterpieces

take Mommy on luscious picnics

stir up my creative juices

and go on long walks with my Elmo slippers when the real cabin fever spikes.

Mommy hates the weather too. She acts out about it so I make her drop and give me 20. I tell her she has to have a good attitude.

I can’t believe there’s over a week to go until April.

Better start thinking of some new ideas to keep me busy.
But then does that mean April showers? please no.

Open Wide

Daddy told me to get dressed cause we were going on a surprise outing.

Yippee! I couldn’t wait to see where we were going!
Could it be for a hot fudge sundae, the zoo, the museum, the playground or maybe shopping for new spring clothes?

We started on our way. I was so excited! But wait, did Daddy just take me to… the dentist?!

No way! I wasn’t happy.

But the good news is that all was good.

And a red lolly on the way home made it all worth it.

Marching Along

You have to make the most of these blah March days and do something really fun.

Like have a play date with Amelia.

So off I go.

We’re so silly together.

See what I mean?

Cozy Days

Geez, just when it seemed like winter was going away, we got hit with another big storm.

At first I was mad but then I realized the snow makes everything cozy. A good excuse to just hang out and chill.

So I hit Shake Shack and inhaled some french fries,

cuddled with my friends on the couch,

did my best Buddy Rich impression,

  ta dum

channeled my Picasso,

and played engineer with Thomas and Percy.

I’m kinda liking these cozy snow days. They suit me just fine.

A Missed Opportunity

So you know that trip I was going on? The one to DC?

  Selfie with Mommy

Well, it didn’t happen.

Nope, we took off but the weather and the roads were so bad that we had to turn back. Luckily my good friend Axel’s house was on the route home.

Even though I was sad we didn’t get to see our friends in DC, I was excited because I hadn’t seen Axel in awhile. We had fun playing guy stuff in our man cave.

The next day we made it back home. I got back to the usual …

  playing golf

   museum hopping

   making a mess

and eating yummy homemade turkey chili made by Mommy.

Turned out to be a good weekend after all.

Hobby Lobby

I was excited to go to DC this weekend to meet up with Mommy’s high school friends.

I waited in our building’s lobby while Mommy and Daddy packed up the car.

I love our lobby. It’s really pretty, and the doorman Rick gives me high fives. And I get to practice my gymnastics in the lobby.

So off we went. Sammy got to come too.

I wouldn’t leave home without him.

February Vacation

I thought Mimi and PopPop needed to have some fun so I summoned them to NYC and banished Mommy and Daddy to Texas.

Mimi came first. I always ask her to look at pictures of myself on her phone.  Auntie Hay tells me I have a big ego.

When Pop Pop arrived we headed to Ellen’s Stardust Diner. Mimi has been nagging me to go there so we finally did.

The best part was walking there – the entire length of the street was filled with construction trucks. Who needs Broadway when you have excavators to admire.

I asked Mimi to hold her hand while we waited in the line to get into Ellen’s.  I was afraid she might ditch me.

The show was fun and I really loved it. Even if they only had tater tots, and not french fries, for breakfast. The nerve.

Pop Pop and I played hard. He loved it when I covered him with balls.

Sometimes I needed a break to chill to watch my favorite show.

  Daniel Tiger

Auntie Hay worked her Norton magic on my room. She was so clever making Elephant play the guitar and Bear the drums.

Pop Pop and I watched a lot of golf too.

We gotta get our games sharp. Summer will.
be here before you know it.
